Andrew and Doug selected barrels with the most potential to evolve 10+ years. With an additional seven months in older barrels (to avoid the Sawdust Syndrome) this wine has multiple layers of spicy complexity that warrant its 'Reserve' status. If there is a comparison in the wine world perhaps an Italian Barolo with a dash of Brunello di Montalcino comes closest. (It's fun to name-drop prestigious European appellations on you.) You also get a great looking, silk-screened bottle to boot. The details.Dry Creek Valley Bottled: April, 2008 Number of cases: 245 Alcohol: 13.9% pH: 3.53 T.A.: 6.3 g/L |
